Harvard Club of San Antonio Honored

The Board of Trustees at Floresville Independent School District (Floresville, TX) selected the Harvard Club of San Antonio to receive one of its Community of Character Awards. The award is given to individuals who show a particular aspect of the core ethical values promoted by the community and school district. The Harvard Club was selected as a recipient for its caring, citizenship, and responsibility displayed by bringing the Early College Awareness program to Floresville. The Club was recognized by the district board of trustees for its outstanding effort to build character in the community. John Kirk accepted this award on behalf of the Club on May 20th . He is pictured with the Floresville Superintendent, Princpal, and other Board of Trustee members.

Harvard ECA comes to Floresville

Under the leadership of David Vinson,  Floresville Independent School District Superintendent,  their district will offer the Harvard Early College Awareness Program in Spring 2008.  This will be their Inaugural year and the second school district in Texas to adopt the program. Dr. Marc Walker honored

During the September 20, 2007 Comal Independent School District (ISD) school board meeting, Dr. Marc Walker was honored. Dr. Walker, Superintendent Comal ISD, received the Harvard Prize Book Award from John Kirk of the Harvard Club of San Antonio. Kirk honored Walker for his commitment to help disadvantaged youth through the Harvard Early College Awareness program.
